The protection of these seeds is performed according to an agreed to quality standard. For your own safety and to protect the environment, the following precautions must be observed:

In general: Do not use treated seeds for human or animal consumption or for processing. Keep out of reach of children, livestock, and wildlife. Handle seed packages carefully. Avoid contact with skin and respiratory tract and wear suitable protective equipment during seed handling and equipment cleaning. Wash hands and exposed skin before meals and after work. Dispose properly any seed spillages. Keep treated seeds away from surface water.

Storage: Store seeds in a ventilated or cool dry place. Keep away from heat and direct sunlight.

After sowing: Do not leave empty bags or leftover treated seeds in the environment. Dispose them according to local legislation. Ensure that seeds leftover treated seeds are returned to their original bags and empty bags will not be used for other purposes.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

Fifteen (15) kg of Arize® AZ 8433 DT hybrid seed is enough to plant 1 hectare.

Maturity: 114-120 days after sowing

SEEDBED PREPARATION FOR WETBED METHOD

1. Prepare 60-80m2 seedbed for every 3 kg Arize AZ 8433 DT

seeds, 300-400m2 seedbed per 15 kg seeds.

2. Construct 5-10 cm raised seedbeds of approximately 1m width.

3. Construct drainage channels between seedbeds to remove

excess water resulting to vigorous seedlings.

4. Optional: Mix 3 bags carbonized rice hull during seedbed

preparation for easy pulling of seedlings.

SOAKING, INCUBATION, AND SOWING

1. Place the seeds in durable sack (half-filled). Soak the seeds for 18-24 hours in clean water. Do not discard floating or half-filled seeds. Ensure seeds had imbibed enough water which leads to swelling and breaking of seed coat.

2. If not soaked in flowing water, replace with clean water every hour.

3. After soaking, drain the water then incubate seeds for 24-48

hours in a shaded area. Cover with any available material to facilitate incubation. To prevent heat build-up, do not pile sacre on top of each other. Gradually turn the sack of seeds upside

down.

4. Sow the pre-germinated seeds on the prepared seedbed are

rate of 3 kg per 60-80m2 or 15 kg per 300-400m seedbed.

TRANSPLANTING

1. Ensure that the field is thoroughly prepared and evenly

leveled before transplanting to achieve uniform plant height, flowering and maturity resulting to high yield.

2. Pull and transplant the seedlings from seedbed 21-23

after sowing.

3. Transplant one seedling per hill. Do not split the seedling.

4. The recommended plant spacing is 20 x 20 cm.

IRRIGATION

Implement the usual irrigation practice. Irrigate the ne days after transplanting. Increase water depth at 5-10 cm during vegetative stage. Drain the field 2-3 weeks (or 99-106 DAS) before harvest.
