GENERAL INFORMATION: PENNANT® EC500 (Phenthoate) is a broad spectrum organophosphate insecticide registered for the control of chewing and sucking insects. When used as directed, PENNANT® EC500 will effectively control insect pests of various crops. It is highly effective on late instar larvae which are hardly controlled by most commonly used insecticides.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Mix 20-25 mL per 16 liters of water. Spray when insects appear and repeat at 7 to 10 day intervals whenever necessary.

COMPATIBILITY: Do not mix with highly alkaline such as Bordeaux mixture and lime sulphur.

PRE-HARVEST INTERVAL: Do not spray within 14 days before harvest on corn, sorghum, cotton, onion, citrus, and mango; 7 days on rice, soybeans, and other beans, cabbage, and other crucifers, and white potato; 3 days on cucumber and other cucurbits, egg plant, and tomato.

RE-ENTRY: Re-entry into treated areas may be done at least 2 days after application.

STORAGE: Flammable. Keep away from heat and open flame. Store in a cool, dry place away from food and feeds and reach of children.

CONTAINER DISPOSAL: Triple rinse, puncture, and crush empty containers and dispose by burying 45 cm deep in an isolated location away from water sources.

PRECAUTIONS: This product is a poison. Follow use, storage, and disposal instructions. When working or preparing the product, avoid prolonged contact with skin. Wear gloves, respirator, and long-sleeved clothing. If contamination occurs, flush eyes with plenty of water. Wash affected skin thoroughly with soap and water. After use, wash hands and face thoroughly. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Do not smoke, eat, or drink while spraying.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF POISONING: Signs and symptoms of poisoning include headache, giddiness, nausea, nervousness, blurred vision, weakness, cramps, diarrhea, discomfort in the chest, sweating, tearing, salivation, and constricted pupils. In sever poisoning, muscle twitching, inability to walk, and respiratory arrest may occur.

FIRST AID TREATMENT:

If swallowed: Induction of vomiting should only be considered if a significant amount has been swallowed (more than a mouthful), if the ingestion was less than an hour ago, and if te patient is full conscious.

If on skin: Immediately wash affected skin with soap and water.

If on eyes: Flush well with plenty of clean running water.

If inhaled: Move the patient into an open area with plenty of fresh air while loosening clothing and shoes.

NOTE TO PHYSICIAN: Contains a long-acting cholinesterase inhibitor. If swallowed, do careful gastric lavage with activated charcoal, and follow with sodium sulfate cathartic. Treat with cholinesterase reactivator (pralidoxime or obidoxime, intravenous) if within 24 hours of poisoning. Give atropine sulfate as main antidote. Maintain patent airway, vital signs, and fluid electrolyte balance. Never give opiates, phenothiazines, antipyretics, xanthine (aminophylline, theophylline, caffeine) and other respiratory depressants. Xylene can cause chemical pneumonitis.
