GENERAL INFORMATION: Best control of perennial weeds is obtained when treatment is made at late growth stage approaching seed head development or flowering. Visible effects in most annual weeds occur within 2 to 4 days but on most perennial weeds may not occur for 7 days or more. Visible effects are gradual wilting and yellowing of the plant which advances to complete browning of above ground growth and deterioration of underground plant parts.
Performance of ROUNDUP® is reduced when treating weeds on wet, low-lying soils. Repeat applications or touch-up application maybe required. Reduced results may also occur if water containing soil is used, such as muddy water from ponds and unlined ditches.
WEED RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT: Glyphosate is a Group G herbicide based on mode of action classification system of the Global Herbicide Resistance Action Committee. Any weed population may contain plants naturally resistant to Group G herbicides. Consult your local company representative, local extension agent, professional consultant or other qualified authority to determine appropriate actions for controlling specific resistant weeds.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: With one-half of the required amount of water to the mixing or spray tank, add the required amount of ROUNDUP® herbicide. Mix well before adding the remaining portion of water. For knapsack sprayers, it is suggested to mix the solution in a separate container and fill the knapsack with the mixed solution. DO NOT USE GALVANIZED (zinc-coated or unlined steel) containers. Wash all equipment thoroughly with clean water immediately after use. When sprayed uniformly on tall, dense foliage of cogon or on shorter species such as mutha, ROUNDUP® herbicide will provide a minimum of 7 months weed control.
**FOR TABLE, SEE PAGE 584
The efficacy of ROUNDUP® may be enhanced by dissolving and adding 1% crystalline ammonium sulfate (AMS) to the spray solution for the control of various weeds including cogon. For best results, spray 1 liter ROUNDUP® mixed with 1.3 to 2.0 kg AMS in 200 liters water per hectare for touch-up application on physical misses at 30 days after initial treatment. In mixed weed solutions, 1% solution (liters of ROUNDUP® mixed with 2 kg AMS per 200 liters of water) sprayed evenly on weeds will provide effective control.
A 3-30% aqueous solution of ROUNDUP® may be applied with wiper to contol weeds around sensitive plants like young coffee, cacao, citrus, mango, banana, sugarcane and vegetables.
• Blanket, strip, and spot spraying or wiping around young and matured rubber, palm, coffee, sugarcane, citrus, mango, cacao, coconut and banana
• Minimum or reduce tillage systems for sugarcane, rice, com and one and vegetable crops.
• Reforestation areas, subdivision lots. rice levees, drainage ditches, irrigation, canal, around fishponds, field boundaries, roadsides, fencerows, railroad yards, railroad tracks, around buildings, golf courses and field memorial parks.
